Painting this scene, the artist recalled his months in Tohono O’Odam territory and his visit to the lands of the Zuni people. Coming out from under a months-long blanket of grey in the springtime, Pacific Northwesterners are wan and sallow unless they’ve been getting their sun from traveling. If you cannot travel, as so few were able during the pandemic, then let your mind’s eye wander to this expressionist / surrealist landscape. Original. 2022. Signed and titled.
